Physical cards have to be activated before you can use them.
When creating a new physical card for a user, he will receive automatically an email to set up a personal PIN. This action will confirm the physical card order and it will be shipped to you within 5-7 business days.
Once you've received your physical card, go to the 'Cards' section on the left of your Qonto interface. Select your new card and then click on 'Activate card' in the tab on the right.
You're asked to type in the ID number of your card. This ID is written on the back of the card, just bellow the signature zone.
In order to finalize the card activation, process one of the following operations :
- make an in-store card payment with PIN
- withdraw money from an ATM. If you don't want to cash out money, cancel the transaction after entering the PIN.
Once activated, you’ll be able to process payments, either online or in physical shops, depending on permissions set up by your account admin.
Note: virtual cards do not need to be activated and can be used immediately.
