COVID-19: Important information about check deposit

Due to Covid-19 limitations, we aren't able to accept and cash in your checks temporarily. In order to prevent you from having to wait too long to cash your checks, the feature has been deactivated from your web and mobile app.

If you have already deposited some checks:

If you have already entered your checks info into Qonto, you can follow the checks deposits from the in-app dedicated section. They will just be processed and cashed in with some exceptional delays due to mail service limitations.

If you have checks to send us :

Keep them at home! We won't be able to process them until the lockdown is over. You will be able to deposit them when everything will be back to normal.

☝️ Don't worry, you have 1 year and 8 days from the date the check is issued to send it to us.

Prefer transfers:

In order to receive your payment as soon as possible, we advise you to choose the transfer option, which is faster and much more secure.


Our answers to your most common questions

  • Do you no longer have access to your check history from your mobile app? (checks being processed and/or to be received)

All you have to do is to update your app. Go to your iOS or Android store and download the latest version of the Qonto app. You'll have access to your check history and tracking.

  • You registered a check on Qonto a few days ago and were about to send it?

Keep your check at home! The deposit you made online will be canceled (without consequences 🙏) and you will be able to re-submit it when the Check Deposit feature will be reactivated.

  • Did you register and send a check to our processing address?

No worries, it won't be lost along the way. The mail service maintains "the continuity of its essential activities for the population" and ensures the delivery of mail during the containment period. It may be received with exceptional delays but, as usual, you will be notified as soon as our processing teams receive your check.

  • Do you have one or many checks "processing"?

Our teams have to make some final verifications before cashing in your check. In general, this step takes a maximum of 15 working days once the check has been received by our teams. Due to COVID-19 limitations (mail service delays and reduced staff), it may be delayed by a few days.

  • Are you waiting for one or many declined checks to be returned to you?

Unfortunately, we will not be able to return your declined cheques before the end of the lockdown.

  • Did you just get paid by check?

If possible, and you want to be paid as soon as possible, we advise you to contact the check emitter and this person to make a transfer instead. Faster and more secure!
